about

You know when you try to open a pickle jar for like 45 minutes and you still can’t open it so you dejectedly have to have your sandwich without pickles?
Well, I couldn’t write a song about pickles.

lyrics

I’ve known this girl for a while now
She’s a sight for sore hearts
She’s so close but so far away
And it’s tearing me apart

Does she know That my heart sings when I see her?
Does it matter one way or the next?
Because her feeling the same way towards me
Is unlikely at best

Her answers to all of the chances I give her
Is beyond benefit of the doubt
I should stop chasing what I cannot catch
It's just getting bad for my health

I would go entire weeks
Without a thing to eat
If I could speak with her
Without interruption
But it’s not a lofty claim
To say that she would do the same
Is an entirely unfounded assumption

And It's getting old and it's taking its tole
Do you think I need another lonely night?

I stopped drinking caffeine
I’ve been cutting down on blue light
But this girl is the girl of my dreams
So I still can't sleep at night

She's been stuck in my head
She's my new favourite song
Because I know I'll ruin this
By leaving it on repeat for too long

This girl is far too amazing
For me to stay away from
I know I've got to cut myself off though
Half is worse than none

So I won't message I won't call
I won't think of her at all
Just to see how long it takes me to notice
No matter what I never say
It isn’t going to change
The outcome to be better than hopeless

And It's getting old and it's taking its tole
Do you think I need another lonely night?

I know someday I'll decide
To leave his girl behind
Like I've left behind so many before her
That day I'll dress myself in black
My reflection looking back
Will be pleading to me over and over

Do you think I need another lonely night?
